Ok, play my game with me please....

I can take criticism, and realize some memories of me, might not be the nicest. Sometimes the truth hurts. Hopefully one or two people have a fond memory of me.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn’t matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It’s actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I’ll assume you’re playing the game and I’ll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don’t want to play on your blog, or if you don’t have a blog, I’ll leave my memory of you in my comments.

So there you go. What do you remember about me (whether in real life or on-line since many people reading this live exclusively in my computer)?

I remember the two of us in Garson, during the hot summer months. Our ever so inventive Dad made us a shower with a hose.. a watering bucket.. and the swing set. We played for hours. I can picture it today, just as clear as the beautiful pics of Svea and Olivia playing together that you've posted.

Yes... you were strong and willful way back then... and you still are today. One of the strongest women I know :)

I love you tons Kaija.

I have so many amazing memories that it is going to be hard to choose just one.

But, do you remember the time we were on "The Hill" (I always thought it in capitals..lol) picking saskatoons, and those kids showed up, told us off for picking their berries and then pulled my shorts down?

You were SO angry...took off after them, and when they were busy hightailing it up the street, you ran straight to Mummo's bellowing at the top of your lungs. LOL...

You were always my defender, you know that? I have never been good at standing up for myself, but I watched you, and learned many things. You were this beautiful, wild-haired, wild-hearted, free, wonderfully insane force in my life, and I adored you. I still adore you. I felt safe with you...even when we were doing things that we definitely should NOT have been.

Thank you so much for being you. :)

I love you.

Mailis,

Since you never write in your own blog, I am leaving my memory of you in here.

I remember you trying to teach me the differance between REGINA and VAGINA and laughing your ass off at my confusion. It makes me laugh out loud to think of it now, but at the time, I thought you were wierd for thinking it was funny. LOL.

You used to get SO MAD at me for breaking your crayons. Your mom yelled at me once for it. I want you to know that to this day, I break crayons. Must be the way I hold them. But for every crayon I break, I think of you :)

Do you remember the time we were all playing at Mummu and Ukkis and we got all rambunctious and you fell and broke the glass on the shelf with your head? I got yelled at for that too.

This is more than one memory, but I am on a roll. On the ride to Kaisas Dog Lake camp we stopped at McDonalds and the treat of the week was these little tiny dolls. We played with them all weekend at the lake. Do you remember how when we got there, it was obvious a bear had been IN the cabin? Yah, they made us sleep in tents, LOL!

I miss you and I love you too :)

Liisa,

How am I supposed to pick a memory?

I remember you teaching me how to drive the dogs. Shoving a boy in the snow for making a nasty comment to me. Locking me in the shed for the day like playing prisoner was a fun game. Smacking that horse in the ass and then barely being able to stand you were laughing so hard when it bucked me off. LOL.

I loved when you lived in town and I used to come to your house every morning for coffee with whitener and cigarettes.

You taught me a sense of adventure and a love and respect for the outdoors. If it werent for you, I would never have done horses.

Your the best seester ever and I love you tons too :)

OMG OMG Liisa.

I wanted to add

I remember this like it was yesterday. I can still smell the house, feel like I am there.

You taught me how to sing the song Desperado. I think its significant, because I never hear you listen to music at all anymore, but you loved that song.

And I remember you cutting my jeans into shorts for me. My favourite jeans. Into hooker shorts. And I wound up loving them...because they showed off my ASSets. LOL.

LOL...yeah, I remember the blank and then bemused look on your face when faced with the difference between Regina and vagina. I am glad you have it figured out now. ;)

People seemed to always be getting mad at you on my behalf. The head through the glass incident was definitely not your fault...(we were going to the Murillo (sp?) fair that day too, weren't we?) and you could break my crayons all you wanted now and I wouldn't say a word.

Yes, I still have crayons. :)

Those wee dolls were little cabbage patch dolls...mine had an ice cream and yours was a baby in a pink sleeper, I think. The thought of ice cream made me sick because the car we were in smelled like new car smell, but we kept on playing anyway.

The bear in the cabin! Oh my God...lol...I remember thinking that sleeping in the tent would only make us closer to the bears.

Remember the time we went to the quarry alone, and it was all wrecked. We were soooo scared...as though bikers were gonna jump out at us from behind the trees...lol. There was that one wreck of an outhouse...looked like a bear attacked it :P And then, being us, we blithely threw plums at one another all the way home which caused my mother to, once again, be angry. ;)

I so miss those days. Why can't we have them back?

Kaija said...

OMG Mailis, yes I remember the quarry when it was wrecked and it triggered another memory of me being yelled at by your mom, LOL. We found those wild plums, they tasted SO good and they were So ripe....we ended up throwing them at eachother and laughing hysterically...but when we got back to the house in Garson your mom was pretty hot about your pretty little plum stained duds.

I know....I wish we could go back sometimes too. Like when big worry was whether or not the bee we had captured in the margerine container could sting our ear through the plastic as we listened to him angrily buzzing around in there. Those were the days.

I got yelled at cuz I looked wild and you were so wide eyed and innocent. Such a good cover for a not so innocent little girl, lol.

Shit, lol Mailis, I somehow read your post and didnt absorb your plum comment.....I just reread it and realized how crazy my next post read.

At least we have the very same memories.

Who was it you were talking about visiting in Vagina anyways?

I dont know if I can pick ONE memory.... I have a few which stand out in my head... I remember you babysitting us at Lillian street before and we had those annoying guys across the lane, and one day I think they were teasing us or something and you came outside and let them have it... and they went back in their house cause they were scared of you! I also remember making a hilarious video with you at Lillian... where you were my dad and shelley was my mom and I was the kid... which reminds me i should find that... Mostly I remember all the horse shows you brought me to. I always loved it because you were the cool older cousin but you always brought us along and made us feel useful. You always had us over for sleepovers, took us riding, or just hung out with us... and you always had useful girly information to pass on which I was more often confused and grossed out with than anything... lol... anyway... thanks for being my favourite cousin :)

hi kaija this is donna, not dale. I first want to say you have beautiful children. I can't get over how much the girls look like you when you were little. My favorite memorys of you were you having temper tantrums on the floor. Also the time JaMIE had to be rushed to the hospital for slamming his penis in the toybox. The doctors had to give you popsicles because he had them.. I am so proud of the young woman you have become and the lovely wife and mother . I think this is why you always were your own person. I love you lots and giggle when I think Its payback time. Sometimes paybacks are great and from seeing you with your family and how happy you all are, I am so happy for you
lots of love...donna.
